How to Give your Skin Some TLC on Long-Haul Flights this Festive Season

It’s officially the festive season and if you’re lucky enough to be heading to a far-flung destination this winter, it’s time to consider how to look after your skin on the flight.

Why does your skin feel so bad after a long flight? To wear make-up or go bare-faced? Is in-flight pampering acceptable? We’ve got the answers from Irene Forte, our Founder and serial traveller…

The combination of poor sleep, airplane food and recirculated, dehumidified cabin air has the potential to wreak havoc on your skin. A long-haul flight definitely leaves your skin feeling dull and dry, but knowing the right tips and products can ensure you are fresh and glowing when you land.

Hydration, Hydration, Hydration - You can give your skin a helping hand by drinking water throughout the flight, but also make sure to hydrate from the outside with our skincare products.

Boarding Buddy

Our Pistachio Lip Balm is the perfect hydrating multi-purpose balm to boost your flight regime. Enriched with Shea Butter, Wild Mango Butter and Pistachio Oil and at just 5ml, it’s the ideal travel companion.

Prepare for Take-Off

It’s best to travel with make-up-free skin but, if you do have make-up on, you can use our Almond Cleansing Milk. Just massage it into the face, neck and décolleté using upward circular motions. It’s enriched with Almond, Jojoba, and Rose Oils to help cleanse, nourish and hydrate the skin. Put a spritz of Helichrysum Hyaluronic Toner onto a cotton pad and sweep it across the face to remove any remaining cleansing milk, then pitter-patter fingers across the face to encourage circulation. Our toner is formulated with Helichrysum Water, Hyaluronic Acid, White Wine Extract, and Amino Acids to help slow down the ageing process, antioxidise and hydrate the skin. We recommend decanting it into a mini bottle with a spray top.

Get ready for some serious pampering. There is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to in-flight skin TLC!

Stand-by Serum

Our Hibiscus Serum sachet will be your best friend and saviour on a plane. The serum step of a skincare routine should never be skipped; serum penetrates deep into the skin, locking in moisture and ensuring maximum hydration. Ours has two molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid - an ingredient that acts like a sponge, making it essential for hydration - as well as two botanical peptides (Hibiscus and Green Pea), and a proper peptide.

Turbulence Free

Avoid turbulent skin by using a face mask that really protects against moisture loss whilst giving your skin all the beneficial nourishing ingredients it needs. Don’t worry about looking weird, our Pistachio Face Mask absorbs quickly and it comes in a sachet version! It’s packed full of Pistachio, Avocado, and Pumpkin Seed Oils to help hydrate, refresh and plump the skin. The best part? You don’t even need to remove it.

Top up?

Continuing to pay attention to your skin throughout the flight is important and this is where our Rose Face Oil comes in. A bit of self-massage with this oil throughout the flight will do wonders. It’s blended with oils from Vitamin E-rich Sweet Almonds, Sunflowers, Olives, Avocados and Jojoba Seeds for hydration, and Calendula, an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredient. We’d also recommend regularly dotting a sachet of our Almond Eye Cream around your eyes to prevent lines setting in during the flight. Don’t forget the Pistachio Lip Balm for areas that need an added boost.

Avoid Crash Landing

Before landing, we would recommend repeating the cleansing, toning, and the serum step again. Then last, but definitely not least, moisturiser! This is the final step that will lock in all of that moisture and ensure your skin looks and feels fresh. Our Prickly Pear Face Cream, an age-defying cream enriched with the superfood Prickly Pear, the botanical peptide Hibiscus Seed, as well as Hyaluronic Acid, will help the skin look brighter, energised and hydrated.

Fight the Jet Lag

If you can’t sleep, we can recommend an added step to fight against the signs and effects of poor sleep. Our Hyaluronic Acid Vials can be an added boost after the serum step in your routine. They’re a concentrated formula of special-grade Hyaluronic Acid to help support the skin’s natural structure and plump it up with moisture.
