In Conversation With Luciana Rella - Pure Green Lifestyle

We chat to the Pure Green Lifestyle founder and skincare aficionado Luciana Rella about her passion for skincare and much more.
Why and when did you start Pure Green Lifestyle?
Since a young age, I have always loved beauty and consumed thousands of beauty products until my skin had an allergic reaction at 30. I took myself to see a dermatologist and he solved my problem immediately with cortisone treatment. I later decided to finish my cortisone treatment and sadly my allergic reaction came back. I decided to search the internet and I discovered the world of 'green beauty' which completely changed my way and attitude to cosmetics. I was so enthusiastic about the results I was seeing by using silicone-free skincare that in less than two months I decided to start my own 'green beauty' brand; Pure Green Lifestyle.
What have your biggest challenges been?
My biggest challenges have definitely been introducing people to green cosmetics and making people see that buying ' green' beauty products means that you're also promoting a better more sustainable planet. Starting from scratch meant that I had to work very hard to get returning and loyal customers.
What do you look for when selecting a skincare brand?
I look for quality and sustainability which includes everything from the packaging to the INCI list. I also look for aesthetically pleasing products which have a luxury feel to them. I have many memories as a child where my mother used to use vials which were package in a golden Estee Lauder box, you only had to look at them and it made you want to try them.
Why did you choose Irene Forte Skincare?
I feel that Irene Forte Skincare is a fresh and innovative brand.
What's the one beauty product you can't live without?
Serum and toner.
What do you think the future of skincare looks like?
I think there will be much more research and innovation surrounding cosmetics. I believe the the future will have a much greater emphasis on nature combined with science.
What do you have in store for 2021?
Providing all the elements to create a flexible and unique beauty self-care routine for my customers. Our skin is different every day, it's conditioned by hormonal changes, oxidative stress and therefore we must have the tools and the knowledge to use what we need in that moment.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Always take care of yourself. I am 44 years old and my skin was cared from an early age which means I almost have no wrinkles. In my opinion taking care of yourself boosts your self-esteem, and those who are comfortable with themselves are also comfortable with others.
