How organic is Irene Forte Skincare?

There is not a fixed percentage of organic ingredients in Irene Forte Skincare given that this varies with each product. Nevertheless, we have used organic ingredients wherever possible. We decided to not use organic flower, plant and herb waters as these contain allergens which can irritate the skin. Our flower, plant and herb waters have been purified from allergens which no longer make them organic.

How natural is Irene Forte Skincare?

There is not a fixed percentage of natural ingredients in Irene Forte Skincare given that this varies with each product. Nevertheless, the majority of our products contain 97-99% natural and naturally derived ingredients.

Irene Forte Skincare has not been certified as gluten-free. It has, however, been scientifically demonstrated that gluten intolerances can only be manifested when substances containing gluten are ingested. Therefore, skincare products leave no risk for individuals who are gluten intolerant.

Can Irene Forte Skincare be used during pregnancy?

When pregnant, you should avoid products with the following ingredients: Salicylic Acid (BHA), Benzoyl Peroxide, Retin-A, Retinol, Hyroquinone, Tazorac, Accutane, Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate, Formaldehyde and Dibutyl Phthalate. All Irene Forte Skincare products do not contain these ingredients.

You should also avoid essential oils, which are not present in the majority of Irene Forte Skincare products. We do have four products that include an essential oil: Lavender & Rosemary Foam Cleanser, the Lavender & Rosemary Face Cream, the Orange Blossom Face Oil and the Orange Blossom Body Oil. However, the percentage is so small that they contain no fragrance allergens.

Please also note that our Orange Blossom Face Oil, Lavender & Rosemary Face Cream, Lavender & Rosemary Face Mask, Almond Face Scrub and Almond Eye Cream contain a low percentage of Retinyl Palmitate. We use this as a natural preservative in our products rather than as an active ingredient. This ingredient is much more gentle on the skin than Retinol or Retin-A, but could also be avoided during pregnancy.

How long can I keep a product before opening it?

If left unopened, Irene Forte Skincare can last up to two years from the production date. Once opened, the products last six months, as highlighted on the packaging. The sun care products last 12 months after opening, as highlighted on the packaging.

Is there SPF in Irene Forte Skincare?

We have SPF 30 and SPF 50 Sun Creams. In addition, the Prickly Pear Face Cream and Aloe Vera Face Cream contain Gamma Oryzanol, extracted from rice bran oil, which has a strong natural UVA and UVB absorbing capacity.

How is the Hyaluronic Acid in Irene Forte Skincare sourced?

The Hyaluronic Acid we use is a vegan source obtained with the fermentation of non-genetically modified bacteria. It does not contain alcohol, parabens or other harmful skin ingredients.

Why do you use fragrance in your products and not essential oils?

Our products are lightly fragranced with beautifully natural scents, specially formulated and screened to avoid the most common fragrance allergens. Whilst essential oils can be fantastically potent natural ingredients, they are also often a rich source of the same allergens we exclude from our fragrances. For this reason we chose to limit the use of pure essential oils.
