Timeless designs from an icon of Italian Style
We’re continuing our Meet the Makers series, a portrait collection by Irene Forte Skincare that celebrates the Italian artisans, experts, and creatives we love.
Our next maker: Luisa Beccaria, is a world-renowned designer whose romantic, ethereal style has captivated audiences from couture runways to the Mediterranean coast. From creating Irene Forte’s wedding dress to collaborating on many pop ups together, Luisa infuses everything she touches with light, beauty, and timeless elegance.
The Milanese designer first exhibited her work in her early twenties, and swiftly developed a reputation for her light dresses, luxury fabrics and pictorial inspirations. By 1991, the brand started to make its appearance on the Rome catwalks, before the first ready-to-wear collection was launched in 2001.
Luisa Beccaria’s eponymous fashion label captures the same Mediterranean storytelling we celebrate at Irene Forte – Italian luxury, crafted with timeless elegance and sustainability.
What is your favorite skincare product?
“The Hibiscus Night Cream is my go-to for silky, nourished skin,” answers Luisa, speaking of our rich moisturizer that’s powered by Myoxinol™ – a neuropeptide obtained from Hibiscus Seeds that provides visible wrinkle reduction.
What everyday essentials do you have to have?
"I protect my porcelain skin from the Mediterranean sun with a wide-brimmed hat,” says Luisa. “Along with my crystal necklace – a gift from a spiritual guru on my travels, and my signature Luisa dress, which is a pleated-back wrap I wear on repeat.”
Where is your favorite place in Italy?
“Capri has to be my favorite place in Italy,” says Luisa. “I’ve been going since my childhood, and now I’m lucky enough to have a seasonal boutique in the iconic piazzetta.” Should you find yourself upon the shores of Capri, surrounded by its dramatic cliffs and azure seas, a visit to Luisa Beccaria’s boutique is essential. Overlooking the island’s most iconic square, it offers a true glimpse into her world of wonderfully neoromantic design.
